Jack Costello

FOUNDER

Jack grew up in the consumer product goods and medical device industries spanning 20+ years. He was a fast-tracked commercial leader of blue-chip Fortune 500 companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic and Baxter. He was recruited by a Silicon Valley-based startup, Cardiovascular Imaging Systems, Inc. (CVIS), to commercialize intervascular ultrasound where he was one of the early originators of market development approaches to launching disruptive technologies. The company was acquired by Boston Scientific Corporation for an impressive multiple on revenue.

In 2001, Jack founded a retained search firm driven by his conviction in the importance of people, teams and meritocratic cultures. The firm was recognized in the marketplace as the originator of “peer-based recruiting” and rapidly became the go-to firm of discerning venture, private equity and public company clients. The firm was acquired by Russell Reynolds in 2005, where Jack led and built the Medical Device and Diagnostic Practice over the course of more than four years, before founding one8o°. Jack was a co-founder of “The Leaders Forum” a Silicon Valley-based incubator for first-time CEOs. He has been a faculty member of the Stanford Biodesign Initiative.

Shannon Beyer

PRINCIPAL

Shannon began her career in the public relations industry at Off Madison Ave, a Phoenix-based integrated marketing agency. There, she developed and implemented communication strategies for clients in the healthcare, nonprofit, tourism and entertainment industries.

Shannon moved to Chicago in 2010 and accepted a role providing executive and communication support to a professional athlete. In 2012, she was named Executive Director of Noah’s Arc Foundation. Shannon conducted day-to-day operations, provided short and long-term strategic planning and led all programming, fundraising and communication initiatives for the organization. She joined one8o° in 2016 as the Director of Marketing and Operations and was promoted to Principal in 2020.
